Alaskan Wake-up Call

We felt our first earthquake this morning at 5:18 am. The sound actually woke us up before the vibrations. At first it sounded like distant thunder, which is what woke us up, as the windows were open, then we felt the wave go by. It was only a 4.8 on the Richter scale, but the epicenter was fairly close to us - only about 4 miles away! Oh well, the alarm was set for 5:30 anyway...
